New Slag Grinding Plant

Salas O’Brien provided engineering and design services for Ozinga’s new slag grinding plant. In the conceptual engineering phase, we strategically explored numerous plant sites and mill feed options with the client. We completed detailed engineering for the slag receiving system, mill feed system, vertical roller mill (VRM), storage silos, rail spur, and silo withdrawal system. Our team also provided insight into the balance-of-plant design, which included all the plant’s supporting systems and infrastructure. Through our project management, we led Safety, Maintenance, Access, Constructability, and Coordination (SMACC™) reviews throughout the design process to deliver the optimal outcome. Additionally, we coordinated with over two dozen equipment vendors during the project, including international vendors, by verifying compliance with US standards and code requirements for a smooth construction permitting process.
