New Operations Facility Building Envelope Commissioning

Salas O’Brien partnered with Vermont Transco to provide building envelope commissioning services. The project encompassed a standalone structure housing a backup control and secondary data center, EMS and operations support space, and an incident command center. Our services included a detailed review of the owner’s project requirements and the architect’s basis of design, an examination of construction drawings and specifications, and a detailed constructability assessment of the enclosure systems. Our team created and shared an envelope systems manual, formulated a comprehensive commissioning plan, conducted building enclosure tests, and inspected exterior envelope assembly construction for compliance and installation quality. We also maintained an observation issues log, evaluated the condition of critical envelope systems for any deficiencies, provided on-site training to facilities staff, and prepared and distributed the final envelope commissioning report.
