New Filled Coating Tank with Homogenizer Install

Salas O’Brien provided strategic engineering design to upgrade the Coating Tank System for the Shingle Line which involved installing a new above-ground tank with a mixer, a horizontal-filled coating mixer, a homogenizer, pumps, and limestone feed equipment. The project also included installing a series of hot oil heated screw conveyors, strategically designed to provide rotor removal access. Our team visited the site to perform a 3D scan of the existing layout, converting the data into a workable 3D model for accurate planning and execution of the upgrades. We created a containment area for the filled coating tank, coater delivery pumps, and homogenizer, complete with a hoist structure for servicing to provide easy maintenance and operator safety. Additionally, we designed an extraction system for the rotor removal of the new horizontal mixer and created new screw conveyor support bents and transfer tower structures. Overall, our enhancements create a more effective production line, leading to increased profitability and a better market position for our client.
