Delivering an advanced autoclave design to enable production expansion
KENTUCKY, USA
New Autoclave System & Utilities
Salas O’Brien provided detailed engineering and design for a foam
manufacturer’s new low-pressure autoclave system to expand production
capacity and integrate complex supporting utilities.
Our team delivered a multidisciplinary design for the new process and
equipment, including detailed 3D models, piping and instrumentation
diagrams, and structural drawings. We conducted electrical load studies,
performed thermal stress analysis for the hot oil piping, and executed a
process hazard analysis. We also upgraded utility infrastructure for the
electrical, water, compressed air, dust collection, washer, and thermal oil
systems. Through phased design validation and ongoing collaboration
with the client, we minimized risks and improved constructability. The final
outcome was a fully integrated, construction-ready package that enabled
efficient installation, optimized performance, and future scalability.
