Salas O’Brien has made substantial contributions to the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in addressing climate change adaptation and enhancing the resilience of its facilities against weather-related hazards. By identifying climate vulnerabilities and evaluating the impacts of past weather events at the three NETL sites, the organization has developed effective tools to confront climate challenges.
Their Climate Vulnerability Assessment and Resiliency Plan (VARP) report presents 15 actionable recommendations that have the potential to empower NETL in strengthening the defenses of its facilities against future weather occurrences and climate alterations.
