Museum Expansion

Salas O’Brien delivered comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services to assist the Strong National Museum of Play’s expansion into a more immersive, technology-rich destination for more than 600,000 annual visitors. Our team designed a new central heating plant, upgraded the central cooling plant, and enhanced utility service and emergency power systems to support new exhibits, classrooms, collection storage, and the World Video Game Hall of Fame.

Our high-performance HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, and power systems provide stable temperature, humidity, and ventilation, protecting sensitive collections while keeping visitors comfortable. By integrating efficient LED lighting and modern controls, we reduced operating costs and established a flexible, future-ready infrastructure that supports evolving exhibits and digital experiences.
