Mt. San Jacinto College STEM Building

The new science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) building is a three-story academic facility with eight laboratory rooms and several other classrooms serving the Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Physics, and Math programs. The modern facility includes staff offices, conference rooms, and an extensive reading/study area that serves as the main lobby and focal gathering point.

To maintain the project’s budget, the design team prioritized the implementation of ultra-efficient and cost-effective electrical systems that support the design and functionality of the spaces to meet users’ needs. A steel brace frame structural system facilitates a stacked core, which helps reduce equipment runs. Additionally, strategically positioned site lighting, including signage, paths, and gathering areas, provides a well-lit, safe, and easily accessible building.
