Mission-Critical Data Center
Salas O’Brien partnered with a Fortune 100 Semiconductor Company to deliver a mission-critical data center for advanced tool support at one of its Silicon Valley facilities. Demonstrating agility and innovation, the team engineered a robust 3.5 mVA electrical system, featuring dual utility feeds, dual UPS modules, and a fully enclosed Tier IV Final 4 mVA backup generator system. By strategically utilizing off site manufacturing (OSM) modules, the team met an accelerated 14-month schedule.
This state-of-the-art electrical yard and OSM infrastructure seamlessly support a high-performance, 54-rack, liquid-cooled data center, with each rack operating at over 50kW. Salas O’Brien worked with trade partners to flawlessly connect to an existing 2,000-ton chiller plant via 14” hot taps. Throughout this complex process, the team maintained continuity by keeping adjacent critical spaces operational and proactively using temporary backup power to overcome long-lead equipment delays.
