Megascale AI Data Center

Salas O’Brien delivered comprehensive engineering and design services for a megascale data center conversion, transforming a 1.1 million square foot warehouse into a high-power, grid-isolated AI data center. Our team provided integrated solutions, including natural gas turbine generation from a nearby transmission pipeline, enabling full on-site power generation. We engineered systems to support ~650MW of IT load, ~1,100MW of generation, 200,000 tons of cooling, and grid-scale battery backup totaling 1,100MW/2,250MWh.

In addition to serving as the prime design firm, we delivered comprehensive services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage engineering, as well as structural, civil, fire protection, and architectural design, providing seamless project delivery and operational excellence.
