Medical Office Building

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire protection, technology, and life safety engineering services for the project. Medical City McKinney Medical Office Building is a new multi-specialty healthcare facility located on the Medical City McKinney hospital campus.

We designed a high-efficiency, all-electric design with energy recovery ventilators (ERVs), demand-control ventilation, advanced cooling systems, and optimized lighting and envelope performance. High-rise life safety systems include pressurized stairwells and elevators, a fire alarm system, and a fire command center. Energy-efficient VAV HVAC systems and advanced temperature controls help achieve approximately 20% greater energy efficiency than ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standards. The facility also incorporates enhanced indoor air quality measures, EV charging stations, CCTV security systems, and fully integrated telecommunications infrastructure. The project obtained a LEED Silver certification.
