McNair Campus O’Quinn Medical Tower

The O’Quinn Medical Tower at the Baylor McNair campus in Houston, Texas is the new home for outpatient clinics and surgery services including the NCI-designated Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The client challenged the design team to create a unique patient experience focusing on a patient-centric model — leveraging the industry’s best practices and creating high-efficiency environments for the optimal patient experience.

The Salas O’Brien team provided room acoustics, sound isolation, and noise and vibration control design, all essential elements in establishing a serene environment. We recommended mitigation strategies to achieve acceptable background noise levels in patient areas and put a heavy emphasis on achieving speech privacy. The team managed sound controls and isolation solutions for patient exam rooms, equipment rooms, offices, bays, and registration areas.
