Long Term Care Home Development

Located in Ajax, the Seaton Long-Term Care Home brings 200 new beds to the region in a thoughtfully designed three-storey, 185,000-square-foot facility. Developed in alignment with the Durham Standards V1 Sustainability and Resilience checklist, this project reflects a growing need for efficient, future-ready healthcare infrastructure.

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, lighting, sustainability, telecom, AV, and security design services, with a strong focus on energy performance and environmental accountability. Our team conducted a series of eight energy models throughout design, supported by a Level 2 ASHRAE audit, life cycle cost analysis, embodied carbon studies, and a daylight penetration strategy. We also performed specialized analyses for noise control and stormwater retention and reuse—contributing to a facility that is not only comfortable for residents, but deeply responsive to long-term operational and environmental goals.
