Laboratory Energy Audits
Salas O’Brien partnered with The Battelle Energy Alliance to conduct comprehensive energy audits at the Idaho National Laboratory. The project involved performing ASHRAE level 1 and 2 energy audits, infrastructure evaluations, and 20-year maintenance cost projections across 705 buildings and trailers (7.14 million square feet) and 410 other structures. The primary objective was identifying and rectifying energy inefficiencies, recommending energy efficiency upgrades, and ensuring compliance with federal mandates. Our team utilized a standardized assessment process, including detailed walkthroughs and energy simulation modeling, to provide actionable insights and prioritized investment opportunities.
The energy audits revealed areas for improvement, including outdated HVAC systems and inefficient lighting. Recommendations included installing modern HVAC systems, upgrading to LED lighting, and implementing energy management systems. Our expertise earned an “Excellent” rating on the supplier performance evaluation system.
