Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design services for a state-of-the-art maritime training and education facility supporting the Louisiana State University System. Our team worked collaboratively to enhance marine science, technology, and engineering, transforming the DeFelice Marine Center into a central hub for research, education, and collaboration.

We aimed to support the operational growth of LUMCON by expanding its capacity for staff and programming. Our team designed low voltage AV systems with integrated displays and audio for learning and meeting spaces and optimized Wi-Fi coverage using predictive heat map analysis.

Sustainability was a core focus throughout our design process. We meticulously engineered each solution to prioritize energy efficiency and environmental conservation, supporting the facility current needs and setting a benchmark for future projects.
