Hazardous Waste Fuel Handling System
Salas O’Brien delivered comprehensive electrical, controls, and instrumentation design engineering services for a waste fuel handling system at a cement plant. We designed and integrated two new storage tanks, established a rail unloading system, devised a hazardous-vapor injection system for the cooler fan, and installed a new burner system for the inline calciner. We relocated the existing pumps, grinders, and starters where space allowed.
Our team also designed power one-lines, motor control center (MCC) and panelboard schedules, as well as piping & instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams. We created motor and valve control schematics and designs for the programmable logic controller (PLC) network and I/O cabinet. Additionally, we delivered a complete electrical installation package, including raceway, cabling, grounding, lighting, and lightning protection.
