Strategic design cuts construction lead time in half
LOUISVILLE, KY, USA
Greenfield Building Design
Salas O’Brien provided extensive engineering and design services for Louisville Gas and Electric’s new office and maintenance areas. When purchasing the site location, the client originally intended to move forward with a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB). Our experts recommended a tilt-up design approach, since the PEMB model would have extended the construction timeline by six months. As a result, we redesigned the building, which spans over 70,000 square feet of maintenance, storage, and office space, complete with HVAC and plumbing arrangements. We also carefully considered the site location and grading when completing the structural and civil engineering. Our strategic redirection to a new building style cut the expected lead time for materials in half, saving the client time and money.
