Steam Injection System

Salas O’Brien designed and fabricated a new steam injection system for a major food and beverage manufacturer. The client was experiencing reliability and functionality issues with their existing steam injection system. The injection component was developing rapid wear in a critical area, reducing its lifespan and causing issues within the system. Our team developed a new injector design that reduced the vibration on the component that was causing the rapid wear, which reduced maintenance costs and avoided downtime associated with repairs. We also upgraded the hoses from 1/4 inch to 7/8 inch, increasing the steam flow through the system. Our design also reduced the variations in steam temperature from +/- 10 degrees to +/-3 degrees. As a result, our solutions increased steam flow, enhanced process accuracy, and provided greater control, leading to a measurable improvement in the client’s process throughput.
