Integrated LEED sustainability consulting for next-generation emergency facility
Atlanta, GA, USA
Fire Station 36
Fire Station 36 is a modern, single-story facility featuring three apparatus bays, dormitories, a community room, and a dedicated decontamination zone. The station replaced the older neighborhood facility while meeting Risk Category IV requirements and supporting both operational capability and community engagement. The project is targeting LEED Silver under BD+C v4, reflecting the City’s commitment to energy efficiency, occupant health, and sustainable design.
Salas O’Brien provided integrated sustainability consulting, including LEED strategy, energy modeling, and commissioning support. We optimized HVAC and ventilation systems, particularly for apparatus bays and decontamination areas, confirmed energy performance aligned with the City’s LEED goals, and guided operational practices to maintain long-term occupant health and building performance.
