Salas O’Brien provided instrumentation & controls, electrical, and digital automation engineering services to enable a Martin Marietta facility to better understand how its Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) systems, servers, computers, and field devices communicate across the plant. We developed comprehensive plant-wide network diagrams based on existing network designs and close coordination with facility personnel. Leveraging our expertise in secure industrial networks, clear documentation, and integrated systems design, we created a single source of truth that mapped communication pathways throughout the facility. The resulting documentation gives operations and maintenance teams greater visibility into system interactions, enabling faster troubleshooting, more informed planning, and a stronger foundation for future modernization and expansion initiatives.
