CW Healthy Minds, BC Children’s Hospital

The CAPE Unit at the Healthy Minds building in Children’s and Women’s Hospital is undergoing renovations to create a safer and more welcoming patient environment. The project includes upgrades to patient rooms, common areas, and the third-floor nursing station, improving functionality and comfort for both patients and staff.

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, lighting, and security design services for the renovation. Key upgrades include new tamper-proof patient rooms with floor-to-ceiling padding, upgraded windows with built-in electric blinds, and a redesigned nursing station access window. Additional enhancements involve HVAC rebalancing, lighting and power upgrades, and security improvements.
