Critical Spare Parts Analysis
Salas O’Brien partnered with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) for critical assets at the Aseptic Production Facilities (APF). This initiative identified essential spare parts and materials required for APF equipment, enabling risk-based parts stocking evaluations to ensure continuous operational readiness. Leveraging industry best practices in asset management, the team reviewed key documentation—including the APF master equipment list, commissioning reports, facility drawings, and preventive maintenance schedules—to create a detailed roadmap for BOM development.
The final deliverables included a comprehensive set of workbooks with detailed asset worksheets for each facility. These workbooks captured critical information, including part descriptions, manufacturer details, sourcing specifics, and asset tag numbers. Through extensive vendor research and collaboration with manufacturers, our team optimized the supply chain, ensuring reliable parts availability.
