Ensuring robust data collection

Confidential Client Automation Feed Study
Salas O’Brien helped a synthetic paper manufacturer establish a network and software system for it’s new production line which is designed to collect data from PLCs, DCS, drives, and Honeywell gauge systems. The project began with a virtual kick-off meeting where we reviewed the project scope, aligned with stakeholders, and gathered necessary documentation.
Following the kick-off, our team conducted an on-site audit of the existing network. We evaluated critical areas, including VLAN segregation, access control lists between firewalls, the separation of IO and HMI controls, the physical condition of the network, and environmental factors impacting reliability.
Based on the audit’s findings, we developed a remediation plan to ensure a robust and efficient network infrastructure supported the client’s new production line.
