Community Centre Development

The Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre delivers 53,000 square feet of new recreation and wellness space to serve a growing local population. Completed through an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) model, the project brought together the client, architect, contractors, and engineers to streamline timelines, minimize waste, and align construction with community needs.

Salas O’Brien offered mechanical, electrical, lighting, and sustainability consulting services during the project’s design and construction phases. The design of the 1,300 energy-efficient rooftop solar panels and a geothermal field helped the centre earn LEED Gold certification. This achievement demonstrates the project’s energy-efficient systems, durable building envelope, and careful integration with the surrounding site.

The facility includes a fitness centre, a double gymnasium, a six-lane 25-meter pool, an indoor walking track, and various public and community meeting spaces. We also assisted in upgrades to the adjacent parking structure to enhance overall site functionality.
