Communications Center

In public safety communications, seconds matter. So when Adams County embarked on the design of its new Communications Center, it tasked our team with delivering a new facility that enabled Adams County Communications’ (ADCOM’s) mission-critical systems to remain operational 24/7.

Salas O’Brien provided structural engineering and cold-formed steel (CFS) detailing for the new ADCOM Center, which provides police and fire/EMS dispatch for over 500,000 citizens. The carefully designed schedule allowed ADCOM to move out of its old facility and into the new building with no loss of operations.

The new ADCOM Center is 18,251 square feet with a covered patio, open office spaces, a vehicle bay, two kitchens/break rooms, an elevator, and two executive suites. The new building also includes an indoor garage where the Wireless staff can work on agency vehicle equipment while also providing capacity for ADCOM’s growth for years to come.
