Bergami Center for Science, Technology and Innovation

Embarking on its 100th anniversary, the University of New Haven significantly upgraded its science labs and renovated residence halls and athletic facilities. Salas O’Brien provided engineering and technology design and commissioning services for the LEED Gold-certified Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation transformation. Enabling work included renovations to the adjacent Buckman Hall to replace all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as the construction of a 6,000-square-foot utility structure that serves both buildings.

In addition, the center features a maker space, state-of-the-art science and “smart” classrooms, communications studios, an atrium and café, multidisciplinary collaboration spaces, and a 1,300-square-foot esports classroom and tournament venue that includes 24 top-of-the-line gaming PCs, a game console area, seating space, and mounted displays.
