Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

Salas O’Brien is proud to be part of the winning team for the international design competition for the new Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Waterfront Arts District, providing mechanical design in collaboration with leading architectural partners.

Located on the Salter Block of the Halifax Waterfront, the new Art Gallery and Arts District will serve as a cultural hub, offering a dynamic destination for all to enjoy. It will foster creativity, inspire imagination, and challenge conventional thinking, reshaping the values of cultural institutions.

This space will be built with a deep focus on people, art, and culture. The vision brought to life by the winning team celebrates sustainability and reflects the essence of a place for all seasons.  With a design that connects the city to the water, this will be a gathering place where art, education, and community come together in harmony.
