Acid Waste Transfer Design Line

Salas O’Brien enhanced the reliability and flexibility of a client’s acid waste management system by designing upgrades that allow multiple on-site neutralization systems to accept waste from one another during outages. This added redundancy improves operational resilience and reduces the risk of service interruptions. Our team collaborated with the system manufacturer to evaluate the existing infrastructure, upgrade the pumps, install an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-compliant maintenance platform, and reconfigure the piping in the East and West yards. The work included rerouting lines, updating structural supports, integrating new instrumentation and controls, and adding secondary containment and monitoring for chemical lines. We also incorporated fall-protection tie-off points and verified that all modifications met the client’s compliance requirements.
