Case Study

Plumrose USA

Meat Slicing Plant

Plumrose USA produces sliced meats, deli hams, and bacon from facilities around the country. With an 80-year history of providing excellent service and value to customers, Plumrose needed to expand its facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to meet growing customer demand. The company also needed a facility that would meet ambitious sustainability goals.

Salas O’Brien’s reputation for ingenious and sustainable solutions, in addition to its background in commercial and industrial design, made the firm a perfect match to meet the stringent requirements that Plumrose laid out.

The resulting plant added 25 percent more production capacity to the Council Bluffs facility—while being named 2013 Sustainable Plant of the Year by Food Engineering and achieving LEED Silver status.
