The Outlets at Traverse Mountain

Situated just south of Salt Lake City, Utah, the Outlets at Traverse Mountain are easily accessible via two of the western United States’ busiest thoroughfares: Interstate 15 and Interstate 80. The outlets occupy 50 acres of a master-planned development in Traverse Mountain, and they feature highly popular retail brands like Michael Kors, Under Armour, Calvin Klein, and Nike. Salas O’Brien’s team designed the mechanical and plumbing systems for the shell and most of the tenant improvements for Phase 1 of these outlets’ construction.

Our team’s work encompassed 225,000 square feet of retail and shopper areas, including the 12,000-square-foot central entrance (home to a 50-foot indoor/outdoor fireplace), upscale public and family restrooms, and radiant heated walkways supported by boilers we specified.

This project was fast-tracked for completion in just 11 months, a schedule that required some of the trades to perform two shifts a day, six days a week. The finished mall houses over 50 retail vendors, and it was open in time for holiday shopping.
