Marriott Gateway Hotel and Conference Center

Marriott’s focus on the business traveler goes back almost as far as the company’s entrance into the lodging business. The company pioneered extended-stay business accommodation, and one of its first distinct brand lines specifically catered to business travelers.

The Marriott Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia, is a contemporary example of the company’s drive to provide convenient, luxurious accommodation for modern business travelers. This expansive hotel is situated directly adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport—the busiest airport hub in the United States. With easy access to the airport’s SkyTrain and the Georgia International Convention Center, Marriott Gateway is an ideal rendezvous for corporate meetings and conferences. The hotel’s over 22,000 square feet of meeting space, multiple dining facilities, large ballroom, and open event venues easily scale to meet the needs of any size group, and with more than 400 guest rooms and suites, a fitness center, and a salt water pool, business travelers can easily balance work with relaxation.  

Salas O’Brien provided LEED commissioning and energy modeling services for this seven-story, 300,000-square-foot project. The finished hotel’s systems demonstrate Marriott’s vision for sustainability and save the building owners energy and maintenance costs every year. With Salas O’Brien’s help, the project also achieved LEED Silver status.
