Gwinnett Technical College

Life Sciences Center

Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia, prides itself on providing career-focused education for real-world jobs. With over 150 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs, Gwinnett is one of Georgias largest technical colleges, and it was one of the first technical colleges to receive accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

When the college decided to build a new Life Sciences Center, they turned to Salas OBriens commissioning team to ensure the structure would be safe and compliant. Salas O’Brien performed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) complete commissioning services for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and laboratory systems in the new three-story education center. The completed Life Sciences Center has enabled an expansion of the schools health science program offerings, and its facilities now service nursing, medical assisting, bioscience, gerontology, and health and wellness programs. The building is composed of specialized science and wet labs, general classrooms, large lecture halls, faculty offices, and stock and equipment rooms, as well as common areas for students.
