Case Study

Global Mobile Communication Company

Telecommunications Switch Generator Addition

This national wireless voice, messaging, and data services company employs over 50,000 people throughout the United States, and they’ve won awards for their leadership development, employment equality, and ethical approach to business. But they’re not just passionate about excellence in their corporate environment—they’ll settle for nothing less than excellence in the systems that support the daily services they provide.

When this communications company’s Norristown, Pennsylvania, switch building needed a new generator installed, they came to Salas O’Brien knowing they could rely on us to provide exceptional solutions for their mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering needs.

The original switch room had already been roughed-in for four 1,500kW diesel generators. Salas O’Brien provided engineering services for the installation of the third unit for the site, including designs for a new day tank with fuel piping. Once the installation was completed, our team also recommissioned the entire generator plant system for the client, ensuring that the environment functioned properly and would be maintainable for years to come.
