Crosby Independent School District

New Crosby High School and Cougar Stadium

Crosby Independent School District (ISD) is one of 22 independent school districts directly surrounding the Houston metropolitan area. Crosby ISD serves around 6,000 students in grades K through 12, and their main high school is Crosby High School—home of the Cougars.

When Crosby ISD started plans for a new high school building and stadium, they came to Salas O’Brien for engineering expertise. Our team provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for the new two-story building, as well as for Cougar Stadium. The project included designs for two electrical services, a full sprinkler system with fire pump and domestic booster pump, and a central plant with water-cooled chillers and gas-fired boilers.

The finished 415,438-square-foot high school serves grades 9 through 12 and offers many special programs and program areas, including an agriculture and metal shop, agriculture barn, shooting range for ROTC practice and functions, and learning spaces for culinary arts as well as business media development. Immediately adjacent to the new high school building, Cougar Stadium has capacity to seat 10,000 people and is utilized by the entire Crosby Independent School District.
