Case Study

City of Hope National Medical Center

This project involved engineering design services for the new 12,000-square-foot Women’s Center at the City of Hope National Medical Center—a private, non-profit clinical research center and hospital.

The new center offers plastic surgery, imaging, and genetic counseling as well as breast and gynecological cancer services. The integration of these services into one center served by a large, interdisciplinary team creates a more convenient, cohesive patient experience.

Salas O’Brien engineers began with a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design review, along with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) 2 submittal and back-check. Our team provided a complete analysis of all existing systems, as well as the design, specifications, and load calculations for the HVAC, AHU air distribution, lighting, power, telecommunications, and plumbing systems.
