The Battle House Renaissance Hotel & Spa

Located in the heart of downtown Mobile, Alabama, the Battle House Renaissance Hotel boasts 238 guest rooms, a luxury spa, elegant social spaces, and soaring rotundas that highlight the building’s 19th-century origin. This 280,000-square-foot building was restored and reopened in conjunction with construction of the RSA Battle House Tower—a new 42-story office building named for its adjacent historic hotel.

As a renovation, this project aimed to preserve and restore the historic charm of the hotel while adequately providing for modern guests’ access, power usage, and overall comfort. Salas O’Brien’s experienced team realized these goals, providing construction administration as well as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services. The facility design required a new 2700-ton chiller plant and 4160V electrical distribution from multiple substations. Our team ensured these requirements were met safely and efficiently without detracting from the historic appeal of the space.
