Alief Independent School District

Alief Career and Technology Center High School

Alief Independent School District’s Career and Technology High School is a groundbreaking project that enables students to experience academic subjects and disciplines via inquiry into specific career pathways. The district partnered on the project with Houston Community College in an effort  to help students in their careers as well as to address specific community workforce shortages.

Students learn the basics of trades ranging from HVAC and electrical to plumbing and welding, with the goal of having the necessary skills to begin working immediately after graduation. Because of the special importance of technology, the facility needed to be well-engineered—and Salas O’Brien is pleased to have risen to the challenge.
