Technology Upgrades

Salas O’Brien was responsible for massive technology upgrades, renovations, additions and new construction for 58 Aldine ISD schools and seven district facilities.

The technology upgrades include upgrading structured cabling, school communications, classroom audio/video, CCTV, access control, as well as network infrastructure. An estimated 12 million feet of category 6 cabling, 3,000 wireless points, 5,000 PA speakers, 2,500 cameras and 450 retrofitted doors for card access were used.

In addition to these changes, Salas O’Brien also completed the upgrades for the Bus GPS locating system. For the new construction aspect of the job, Salas O’Brien completed the technology for four new middle schools, a new CTE high school, three ground-up rebuilds of current elementary schools, and a new transportation facility. Salas O’Brien was also involved with the planning of a new high school, a ninth grade center, and an early college and elementary school prototype.
