Tom Iskra leads campus decarbonization conversation at SCUP 2026
The conversation explores the infrastructure decisions and lessons learned that help turn strategies into action.
As colleges and universities work to meet ambitious carbon reduction targets, campus leaders are looking for practical strategies to move from planning to implementation. Salas O’Brien principal Tom Iskra, PE, LEED AP, will help guide that conversation, moderating “Community Conversation: Campus Decarbonization in Practice” at the SCUP 2026 Annual Conference on July 20. The roundtable will bring campus leaders together to share how they are approaching ambitious carbon reduction goals and the infrastructure decisions needed to make them a reality.
The session will create space for candid, peer-to-peer discussion around the challenges institutions face as they prioritize investments, modernize infrastructure, and advance decarbonization goals. Participants will exchange insights and lessons learned from their experiences planning and implementing campus initiatives.
Tom works with public and private institutions across the Northeast on campus planning and decarbonization initiatives, giving him firsthand insight into the decisions and challenges institutions face today. As campus leaders move from carbon reduction commitments to implementation, conversations like this help institutions learn from one another and identify practical paths forward.
