VIDEO: The Colorado Convention Center -expanding event space with purposeful design

Balancing growth and sustainability with an impactful expansion
The Colorado Convention Center partnered with Salas O’Brien to expand its space in response to growing crowds and event demands. Aiming to erase the line between a regular event and a green event, the convention center strives to be a leader in sustainability.
Salas O’Brien collaborated closely with the leading architects to provide acoustics, technology systems, and cold-formed steel (CFS) framing. CFS allowed the creation of elegant structures, while integrated absorption into slatted ceiling systems and walls enhanced sound quality. Secure, efficient, and beautifully designed, this thoughtful expansion stands as a milestone in the center’s journey toward energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
