Salas O’Brien has been selected to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering for Regional One Health’s new hospital campus in Memphis, Tennessee. This transformational project will expand critical services and deliver lasting economic benefits to the community.

Building on nearly 200 years of service, Regional One Health is creating a modern academic medical center to safeguard essential care, drive innovation, and prepare Memphis for the next century. It is the region’s only Level I trauma center within 150 miles and the only full-service burn center within 400 miles. Campus plans include a bed tower, expanded trauma and burn services, comprehensive oncology, women’s and infants’ care, a larger emergency department, post-acute services, and modernized ancillary suites.

  • HDR – Architecture and interior design, partnering with Self + Tucker Architects, brg3s, METICULOUS, and Cornerstone.
  • Memphis Healthcare Builders – Construction management; Turner Construction, Flintco Construction, Nickson General Contractors, and Fifer & Associates joint venture.
  • Magnusson Klemencic Associates – Structural engineering.
  • Covalus Allworld – Program management; Covalus and Allworld Project Management joint venture.
  • Salas O’Brien – Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, partnering with Innovative Engineering Services and Haltom Engineering.

Beyond providing critical healthcare services for the area, the project is expected to generate up to $892.3 million in economic growth from 2023-2027, create 3,600 construction jobs and 2,300 secondary jobs, and bring $37 million in state tax revenue. The new campus represents a long-term investment in both the region’s healthcare and economic development.
