Salas O’Brien continues its legacy of impact with community-focused acts throughout 2025.

Salas O’Brien has launched its “50 Acts of Community Impact” program in celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary in 2025. Through this initiative, team members will participate in at least 50 community-focused acts throughout the year, reflecting Salas O’Brien’s longstanding culture of giving back and recognizing the generosity and dedication of its team members.
Community engagement has been a cornerstone of Salas O’Brien’s identity since its founding in 1975. Founders Carl Salas and Dan O’Brien instilled a commitment to ethical action and improving the lives of others—a philosophy that remains central to the company’s mission today.
Fifty years later, this commitment continues to thrive. Teams across the organization regularly participate in initiatives that support local communities and the broader architecture, engineering, and construction industry, including volunteering at Habitat for Humanity builds, organizing blood drives, participating in running and biking events for positive causes, and mentoring through the ACE Mentorship Program.
The spirit of community giving was especially evident during the 2024 holiday season, with Salas O’Brien teams across the country participating in several impactful initiatives, including:
- Merritt Island, FL: Collecting donations for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
- Washington, DC: Participating in GINGERTOWN™, a unique holiday initiative hosted by David M. Schwartz Architects to benefit local hospitals and community organizations.
- Cincinnati, Dublin, and Granville, OH: Collecting donations for the Dublin Food Pantry, Reach Out Lakota, and the Food Pantry Network of Licking County.
- Sacramento, CA: Fulfilling a family’s holiday wish list through the Sacramento Children’s Home Holiday Giving Program.
- Toronto, Ontario, Canada: Hosting a charity raffle and food drive to support the Daily Bread Food Bank.
As Salas O’Brien celebrates its golden anniversary, the “50 Acts of Community Impact” program underscores the organization’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities it serves, continuing a legacy of impact into the future.
