Salas O’Brien earns national recognition for merger integration success
Salas O'Brien honored with the 2026 Best Post Transaction Performance Award from Morrissey Goodale, highlighting the firm's success integrating new teams and helping them thrive after joining.
Salas O’Brien believes successful mergers are built on cultural alignment, shared values, and a long-term commitment to clients, team members, and leaders. That approach earned the firm Morrissey Goodale’s 2026 Best Post Transaction Performance Award in the $10 million to $50 million category, recognizing the successful integration of Crossey Engineering after the two firms joined together in 2023.
This marks the second time Salas O’Brien has received the award, reinforcing the consistency of its merger integration strategy. The results show the impact of that approach. Over the past 15 years, Salas O’Brien has maintained 100% client retention, along with 93% retention of leaders and 92% retention of team members who joined through mergers. These outcomes are supported by a culture of ownership, with more than 95% of team members serving as employee-owners. That shared ownership strengthens the long-term perspective and helps create continuity as teams come together.
Before any agreement is finalized, Salas O’Brien prioritizes cultural fit, shared values, and long-term alignment. The goal is to partner with organizations that are already succeeding, preserve what makes them successful, and create new opportunities for clients and team members through broader collaboration.
The award will be presented on October 8 in Houston, Texas, at Morrissey Goodale’s M&A and Capitalization Symposium. The following day, Nathan Rust, senior vice president of Corporate Development, will join an industry panel discussing merger strategy.
As part of the award, Morrissey Goodale will also make a $1,000 donation to the ACE Mentor Program, a cause Salas O’Brien is proud to support. Learn more about the firm’s merger integration strategy here.
