Today, Salas O’Brien announced it is welcoming M/E Engineering, expanding client services in upstate New York. This strategic merger strengthens mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and sustainable design services within the healthcare, education, government, and commercial sectors.
M/E Engineering has over 200 team members throughout New York, in Rochester, Buffalo, Schenectady, and Syracuse. For more than 30 years, the team has built a reputation for design excellence, exceptional client service, and sustainable building systems. Our team provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for the University of Rochester Medical Center Orthopedics & Physical Performance Center—URMC’s largest offsite facility. This new center transformed the former Sears at Marketplace Mall into a four-story, state-of-the-art healthcare destination offering imaging, surgery, orthopedic therapy, and the CHAMPP center.

Integrated building solutions for laser innovation facility
Our team is providing comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, sustainability, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) engineering for Colorado State University’s new Advanced Technology Lasers for Applications and Science (ATLAS) facility. The facility will house a multi-petawatt laser with a laser bay, target area, and control room for
three-laser operation.
