Keith Simon shares climate-specific building science strategies in American Institute of Architects webinar
Keith Simon will join a panel of experts to discuss hygrothermal modeling on August 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. EST.
Salas O’Brien’s Keith Simon, FAIA, BECxP, CxA+BE, CPHC, LEED AP, CEI, and VP of Design Phase Services, will present as part of a live webinar with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) online learning platform. The session is titled “Adventures in Hygrothermal Modeling,” discussing the analysis of heat and moisture transport through building enclosure assemblies.
Participants will learn to apply hygrothermal modeling to create more durable, high-performing buildings, including how to:
- Identify climate-specific design strategies for durable construction.
- Avoid common moisture-related design mistakes.
- Integrate hygrothermal modeling into the architectural design process, improving durability and indoor air quality.
- Understand the role of material properties in wall performance.
An expert in building enclosure technology, Keith will explain how hygrothermal modeling can reveal exact design strategies needed for durable construction. He’ll explore case studies that show when perm ratings matter (and when they don’t), the real effects of roof membrane color, and the risks of “cool roofing.”
