Repairs to Three Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Boilers
Our team provided engineering services to repair three
Our team provided engineering services to repair three 40MMBTU/HR natural gas and diesel fuel-fired water tube boilers, which provide high-temperature hot water. The project also involved replacing two economizers, a low nitrogen oxide burner system, and nine heat exchangers. We also analyzed new piping plans to support boiler ancillary systems and flue gas recirculation systems.
In addition, we analyzed piping for the diesel fuel storage and delivery system and conducted a combustion flow analysis to determine necessary building envelope modifications as a result of three boilers operating simultaneously.
The new boilers have a life expectancy of about 25-30 years.
