New Campus Hub for Intramural Sports & Fitness

Located at the center of the Storrs campus, this Student Recreation Center opened in time for the start of the academic year in 2019. The new complex includes multiple recreation fields, activity spaces for cardiovascular and strength training facilities, squash and racquetball courts, five full-size basketball courts, a running track, and multipurpose sports areas.

Other amenities include an aquatics center, a 50-meter swimming pool, sauna and whirlpool, a wellness center, indoor and outdoor spaces for club sports, and flexible spaces and multipurpose rooms for use by the university community.

This facility is simply amazing. As with any good outcome, it’s the collective effort that influences the best result. From architects to engineers, the construction team to the recreation team, all contributed their expertise to this project.
