Texas A&M University
Salas O’Brien contributed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services to ensure that one of Texas A&M University’s main athletic and entertainment venues, Reed Arena, continues running smoothly and efficiently.
Texas A&M is the oldest public university in Texas, its student body is the largest in the state, and its alumni—over 450,000 strong—remain devoted “Aggies” for life.
Reed Arena is Texas A&M’s chief sports arena and entertainment venue. Seating 12,500, this 236,000-square-foot facility is used for Texas A&M basketball games and commencement ceremonies, concerts, trade shows, family entertainment, and student programs, including the on-campus Aggie Muster (an annual tradition which honors all departed members of the Aggie family). When the university needed an engineering partner to provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for various areas in this key athletic and entertainment venue, they turned to Salas O’Brien.
Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design for two practice gyms, coaches’ offices, a training facility, and dressing rooms.
Our work on this project supports one of the best basketball arenas in the southwest and provides first-class amenities not only for Aggie basketball but for myriad other community events.
