Revitalization of the Arts Hub for the Meadows School of the Arts

The Owen Arts Center is a renovation and expansion of Southern Methodist University’s Performing Arts Building, making it the largest academic building on campus.

Technology-packed classrooms and labs mix with traditional art studios and galleries to create a dynamic blend of creative learning and meeting spaces. Highlights include a film screening room, a creative computation lab with full wall projection systems, and presentation systems in all teaching spaces that support bring your own device (BYOD) and touchscreen control to simplify operation.

We provided acoustic and technology (AV, data, and security) design for the project. Spaces include the Gene & Jerry Jones Grand Atrium and Plaza, art and painting galleries, student galleries, digital imaging lab, darkroom, classrooms, printmaking, lecture hall, creative computation lab, research labs, offices, and the dean’s suite.
