Paseo Place
Our client
Founded in 1994, Matalon Architecture & Planning is a full-service architectural firm, providing programming, master planning, building design, and interiors to both the public and private sectors. Their service-oriented philosophy revolves around the idea that a building’s design should be a reflection of the client and not the architect’s design whim.

Their challenge
When Matalon Architecture was awarded the Paseo Place project at San Diego State University, they needed an engineering partner with the experience and tenacity to pull the myriad components of a mixed-use project together for a livable, workable, sustainable environment.
Our solution
We provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for the 74,000-square-foot mixed-use space. Designs include central heat and air, energy-efficient fixtures, photovoltaic panels, a gas-fed continuous loop hot water system, and access control security.
The results
Paseo Place houses retail shops and restaurants topped by four stories of apartments and two levels of underground parking, providing convenience and comfort to SDSU students.
