The Pond House at Ten Oaks Farm is a stunning project in the firm’s wide portfolio. Sitting at the edge of a pond surrounded by 15.5 acres of natural landscape in Hammond, Louisiana, this one-of-a-kind retreat is designed to blend luxury and efficiency. Holly & Smith brought in Salas O’Brien to provide engineering designs that would support their architectural design and boost the retreat’s overall energy efficiency.
Our solution
Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services that supported the resort’s key energy efficient features. Among these features are highly efficient heating and cooling, solar energy, energy star equipment, and LED lighting.
The results
The finished Pond House maintains net zero energy while providing an immersive, luxurious hospitality experience for guests. This distinctive achievement earned the resort the 2015 Gold Award from AIA Baton Rouge.
